LAGRANGE CITY COUNCIL
NOVEMBER 2, 2009
CITY OFFICIALS PRESENT Elsie Carter, Mayor, Stephanie Cooper, City Clerk and Graham Whatley, City Attorney.
COUNCIL MEMBERS PRESENT Tom Goldsmith, Wally Nay, Jason Taylor, Jean Knight, Melanie Woosley, Debbie Pollard, Linda Hall and Joe Davenport.
Mayor Carter called the meeting at 6:35 p.m. Mayor Carter led council and audience in the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES FOR OCTOBER 5, 2009 MEETING Councilwoman Woosley made motion to approve October 5, 2009 minutes, seconded by Councilwoman Pollard. The motion in favor of passed unanimously, 8 to 0.
DISCOVER DOWNTOWN LAGRANGE REPORT Barbara Edds, gave report on past and present events.
REAPPOINTMENT OF LINDA CORBIN TO HISTORIC DISTRICT COMMISSION Councilwoman Pollard made motion to reappoint Linda Corbin to Historic Commission, seconded by Councilwoman Knight. Mayor Carter does a roll call vote: Davenport-yes, Goldsmith-yes, Nay-yes, Taylor-yes, Knight-yes, Woosley-yes, Pollard-yes, and Hall-yes. The motion in favor of passed unanimously, 8 to 0.
PUBLIC COMMENT No comment
2ND READING AND PUBLIC HEARING OF ORDINANCE 7-2009 - AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAGRANGE AMENDING CHAPTER 92 OF THE LAGRANGE CODE OF ORDINANCES REFERRING TO NUISANCES
Councilman Nay made motion to go into public hearing, seconded by Councilwoman Hall. The motion in favor of passed unanimously, 8 to 0. Tom Cox, 209 North First Street, commented on penalties of ordinance. Councilwoman Pollard made motion to go out of public hearing, seconded by Councilwoman Woosley. The motion in favor of passed unanimously, 8 to 0. Councilwoman Knight made motion to table and send Ordinance 7-2009 back to Ordinance Committee, seconded by Councilwoman Pollard. The motion in favor of passed unanimously, 8 to 0.
NEW BUSINESS/COMMITTEE REPORTS Councilwoman Pollard had mentioned speed limit change on Highway 53.
ADJOURN Mayor Carter adjourned meeting at 6:57 p.m.
