It's a simple phrase that reminds us to
BE KIND. Two young girls - Raegan and Rylyn Richins (11 and 8) - are not only KIND to their three siblings who all have Down syndrome, but have also poured out that message to encourage their ENTIRE community in Oldham County, Kentucky to BE KIND. Raegan and Rylyn were inspired to create the signs when they saw kindness signs in another county. Since launching this initiative in August 2019, they have handmade almost 1,500 of them to promote the need to BE KIND. Their signs are proudly displayed at private homes and businesses, and even an anonymous donor purchased signs for every public school in Oldham County to remind students and parents to BE KIND. Each sign is $10, and the funds they are raising through this project are going to local charities in the name of their KIND community. Even at a young age, Raegan and Rylyn are teaching us about the importance of being gentle, generous, and charitable. Excerpt from bekindsigns.org |
